In 1997, Bill Witte joined the law firm of Riley, Hewitt, McNulty & Sweitzer (now Riley, Hewitt, Witte & Romano, P.C.).  He worked as an Associate handling a broad range of litigation matters.  In 2003, Bill Witte was named as a Partner in the firm.

 

Bill has extensive appellate experience, submitting briefs to the Superior, Commonwealth and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  He has argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court in a line of at-will employment cases and has argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in a worker’s compensation case.

 

Bill currently serves as national coordinating counsel for a company wherein he handles the company’s mass tort litigation. His responsibilities include devising and implementing trial strategies.  This includes drafting responses to discovery, drafting motions and taking and defending both fact witness and corporate representative depositions.  Bill is also responsible for resolution of the cases by trial or settlement.  He also serves as local counsel for several companies litigating and settling asbestos cases in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

 

Bill has handled product liability cases dealing with many different products.  These include skis, roller blades, electric scooters, revolving doors, escalators, elevators and medical devices.  He has also been involved in Plaintiff personal injury cases and franchise litigation.

 

Bill is a member of the Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio Bar Associations, the American Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
